PREMIOS DEL JURADO DE LA COMPETENCIA DEL FICUNAM

COMENTARIO GENERAL

Encontrar una gama tan amplia de formas cinematográficas, que van desde la ficción hasta el documental, del ensayo al collage, de la animación al found footage, ha sido una experiencia fascinante y beneficiosa. La selección realizada por los programadores para la Competencia Internacional del FICUNAM refleja la asombrosa diversidad de tradiciones y experimentos que existe dentro del mundo del cine contemporáneo. Nuestros premios reflejan los valores de originalidad y sorpresa existentes en la creación y la cultura cinematográficas de hoy en día. Para todos nosotros fue un honor haber sido invitados a la ciudad de México, donde hemos encontrado una gran calidez y hospitalidad.

Yatasto

Con sentido de humor, rigor y vitalidad, esta película presenta el retrato de la vida cotidiana de una comunidad, encontrando siempre la distancia adecuada para filmar a sus sujetos y sus acciones.

La obra ganadora del Premio Puma de Plata para Mejor Película es YATASTO, dirigida por Hermes Paralluelo Fernández.

MEJOR DIRECTOR

Esta película narra, de manera sorprendente y desprovista de sentimentalismo, una trágica y potente historia de la vida real. La original e inventiva forma de la película permite un acercamiento a este material que resultaría imposible dentro de una película convencional de ficción o documental.

La ganadora del Premio Puma de Plata para Mejor Director es ANCA DAMIAN por su película CRULIC – EL CAMINO AL MÁS ALLÁ.

FICUNAM COMPETITION JURY AWARDS

GENERAL REMARK

It was a fascinating and salutary experience for the Jury members to encounter such a wide range of cinematic forms, from fiction to documentary, from essay to collage, from animation to found-footage. The International Competition selection by FICUNAM programmers reflects the striking diversity of traditions and experiments in contemporary world cinema. Our awards speak for the values of originality and surprise in filmmaking and film culture today. It was an honour for us all to be invited to Mexico City, where we have encountered such warmth and hospitality.

BEST FILM

The film is the portrait of the everyday life of a community. Humorous, rigorous and vital, it unfailingly finds the right distance from which to film its subjects and their actions.

The Winner of the Silver Puma Award for Best Film is YATASTO, directed by Hermes Paralluelo Fernández.

BEST DIRECTOR

The film tells a strong and tragic real-life story in a surprising, unsentimental way. The film’s form, original and inventive, allows an approach to the material that would be impossible in conventional fiction or documentary.
